Past: Little Ginji Amano was found in the lower levels of the city, a young boy lost with no memory of his life before then. He was found and taken in by another lower city citizen, Takeru Teshimine who raised him as his own son and watched out for him. Ginji was a bright, spirited child who easily made friends with just about anyone he met. To him life was good; he had friends who cared for him, food enough in his belly so he didn’t starve and a roof over his head. But the military was moving in his section of the lower levels and while his friends had been out playing they were attacked and a small sick girl from the neighborhood was killed. Young Ginji went berserk unleashing a strange electrical force from his small body that killed most of the soldiers there and injured many others. Surprised by the strange powers his ward had, Teshimine began to research where the young boy had come from following hidden and secret trails of information that lead him to military scientists who had begun doing strange experiments on children; calling it the ‘Voodoo project’ and his Ginji was one of the ones in their files; labeled ‘Electric Eel’. Ginji didn’t know where his powers came from, but he developed then and used them to protect the citizens of the lower levels in the area he lived. Wanting to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves from the oppression of the military, Ginji began to fight them, or at least keep them from hurting through who couldn’t defend themselves. The sweet bright boy was seen less and less and replaced with a brooding temperamental young man, even though the fighting weighed down heavily on him, Ginji seemed to attracted people to him as if something about him still shone through and lead people to him. Soon enough Ginji had a whole gang that followed and believed in him and were the closest friends that he had. They called themselves the VOLTS after Ginji’s strange powers and Ginji was their leader and the Lightning Lord, underneath him were the 4 kings, Fuyuki Shido, MakubeX, Fuuchouin Kazuki and Kurusu Masaki; they had a large following and kept the peace for the most part in the lower levels of the city. But with each fight, each battle for territory and each innocent life lost more of Ginji’s humanity, love and cheerfulness drained away. The metal, dankness and exposed cables seemed to only heighten his powers as if he could actually pull and channel the electricity from them into himself and there were few who could challenge him with any hopes of winning. Until he came. Ban Mido was an enigma from the moment he appeared. Confident, commanding and seemingly carefree; at first there was nothing about the man that didn’t bother Ginji. He was a threat to what Ginji had and the life that he lived and the two butted heads constantly until it came down to the final fight between them. If you asked anyone how it happened, they’d never be able to tell you, but some how the two walked away from the fight the best of friends and Ginji smiling more brightly than he had in years. There seemed to be a very special connection between the two of them and it wasn’t long afterwards the Ginji decided to leave the VOLTS and travel with Ban, not realizing how him leaving would affect his friends. Together He and Ban left the lower levels to begin a recovery service operation in the middle level, which sadly thus far has not been paying out at all. Ginji misses his friends in the lower levels and wonders how they’re all doing, but he wouldn’t go back to live there again knowing the high risk he would run of becoming the Lightning Lord again.
